Working from a psychodynamic framework that draws from interpersonal and relational theories, Dr. Sutter has extensive experience treating mood disorders as well as identity, relationship and developmental issues.

By understanding an individual's specific history and current coping mechanisms, her integrated approach to therapy offers clients a way forward.

ABOUT DR. SUTTER

Kimberly Burghardt Sutter, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist in Washington D.C. and has been practicing for over 20 years.

An adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University, Dr. Sutter is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Academy of Eating Disorders. She was named one of the top therapists in the Washington D.C. area by Washingtonian magazine.

CONSULTATIONS

The therapeutic relationship begins with an initial consultation. In this 45-minute, face-to-face meeting, an assessment of the presenting problem is taken. If the fit seems right, a suggested course of treatment is outlined.
